Challenge
Alipay+ comes with strict UX, UI, and compliance standards. The challenge was not just adding a new payment option, but adapting HiPay’s existing payment experience to meet Alipay+ requirements while keeping the app intuitive and familiar for local users. The scale and complexity were significantly higher compared to single-wallet integrations.
Objective
Redesign the payment experience to fully align with Alipay+ standards while preserving HiPay’s core usability. Ensure QR generation, payment states, and confirmation flows are clear, reliable, and compliant across different merchant and cross-border use cases.
Results
The Alipay+ integration was successfully shipped and is now available to all HiPay users. HiPay users can pay at a wide range of international Alipay+ merchants using a single app. The integration expanded HiPay’s global payment coverage and positioned the app for cross-border usage at scale.
